FAQs

Do you make Gas Blowers?
All Greenworks leaf blowers are cordless, battery-powered blowers or corded. Greenworks does not make gas-powered models.
Is a battery powered leaf blower quieter than gas?
Electric and battery-powered leaf blowers – in general, are quieter than gas models. DB rating does depend on the model. Depending on the yard you intend to work on, the airflow coming from the device can be a primary factor as well.
What is more important MPH or CFM?
Both CFM and MPH have their benefits. It would depend on which type of blower you’re looking for. MPH is an abbreviation of miles per hour. This denotes the speed at which the air exits the blower. Higher MPH figures produce large pressure changes at the blower inlet. Therefore, a higher MPH is beneficial when looking at blower/vac units. MPH is usually the more important stat here as a higher airspeed helps move heavier debris. CFM is an abbreviation of cubic feet per minute. This denotes the volume of air displaced by the blower. High CFM units tend to move large air volumes at relatively low speeds allowing large areas to be swept and cleared in a controlled, shorter time. Therefore, axial blowers/dedicated blowers benefit more from a higher CFM and is more desirable for these units
What is the most appropriate blower for my property?
Generally, electric leaf blowers have a CFM falling somewhere from just under 200 to 400. If your property is an acre or more, you will probably want a leaf blower with a CFM between 400 to 700
Can I use my blower to dry my car or blow snow off my driveway?
We do not recommend using this blower for any task other than leaf blowing.
What is the difference between a hand blower and backpack blower?
Hand-held blowers are often less expensive than backpack blowers. They have smaller motors to ensure they're not too heavy to carry. Since the motor is smaller, they have less power. These blowers are great if you have a small yard, but can be taxing if you’re spending 30-40 minutes on the job. Backpack blowers provide more power, and you can carry them wherever you go. They have the added benefit of being more ergonomic since you are not relying solely on arm strength. Backpack blowers are better for tackling large jobs, but they’re also more expensive than the hand-held blower
How do I use the mulch function with my blower/vacuum?
When mulching leaves the Blower/Vac must be in TURBO-MULCH mode. Items such as small leaves and twigs will be mulched as they pass through the fan housing. We recommend emptying the bag after each use to avoid deterioration and obstructing air flow, which will reduce the performance of the mulcher.
Why is dust coming out of my collection bag while using my Blower?
There are tiny holes in the collection bag that are necessary for the operation of the Greenworks collection bag. These will allow very small particles of dust to pass through.
Why is my vacuum not collecting garden debris?
If your blower is not easily picking up the leaves, ensure that the nozzle is close enough to the leaves. Also make sure that the mode indicator is on the correct setting. Press the low/high switch to increase the speed options. The unique design of the blower-vac means that only light weight, low density objects such as leaves, and garden debris will be collected. It’s worth noting, higher density objects such as stones and sticks will not be collected. If you are finding the unit is still not picking up it may be necessary to remove the blower tube or mulcher tubes to clear a blocked tube or impeller. Please be sure to remove the battery or unplug the unit before checking the tube or impeller.
What blower can I use for Hard surfaces?
The best push power for removing heavy or wet organic materials from soft surfaces like grass, dirt or sand will come from a corded electric blower or from our 80V PRO blowers. The 80V 580 CFM Brushless Backpack Blower, with up to 580 CFM at 145 or the 80V 500 CFM Cordless Brushless Axial Blower with up to 500 CFM of air flow both units offer more CFM
What is the battery life and how do I maximize it?
To get the most life out of your battery, you should remove it from the charger once it has finished charging. The problem with overcharging is the potential damage to the battery which can shorten its lifespan and leave you in a lurch if it quits in the middle of a project.

Packing some power

Excellent powerful blower. Comfortable to use while walking around and up to almost any job a gas blower would be capable of. The shoulder harness is a little cumbersome - especially the waist support band (partly because I never bother with it so gets in my way). The battery is really heavy which is why I needed the backpack version but it is solid and long lasting even at full power. The 80v batteries recharge very rapidly which is excellent

Great Product

Amazing power and easy to use.

Nice powerful machine

It's powerful and not too noisy. Weight not bad with a 2.0 Amp battery and that lasts long enough for my deck sidewalk and driveway. Only problem so far is that the strap tends to slip off my shoulder. May eventually cure that with an adjustment.

Just as powerful but alot less noise

This works great like gas power blowers without the noise. Your ears will thank you!

Powerful quiet and eco friendly.

This puppy has two settings really powerful and obscenely powerful. I LOVE it. It’s very easy to assemble and get going right out of the box and after that it's easy to disassemble for quick storage. Most of all it's very powerful and considerably more quiet than their gas counterparts. I use it after mowing the lawn to disperse any grass buildup. I use it for cleaning the driveway. I use it to clean off the green works lawnmower I have. I haven’t even had a chance to use it in the Fall yet and I love the thing. Get it.

Great Replacement for my Gas Blower

The blower is very comfortable to wear and has a lot of power. I use an extended run battery with it and it is still easy to carry.

Great Economy Backpack Blower

This is a fantastic product. It is by no means a professional weather blower but I was not expecting a professional blower. This is far more useful than a handheld and very comfortable especially for the price. Does exactly what I expected it to do at a very very affordable price.

Recommend the Higher CFM Air Flow Power

Power - worth the extra cost to by one with this much CFM air movement. Able to hit large piles of grass and move it with out having to go back and forth back and forth to move all of it.

No need to sacrifice power to save the environment

This backpack really blows! No really it moves a lot of air. The power is impressive. I am a little confused as my order and the product review all specify a 580cfm and 145mph yet the product I received is a 610cfm and 180mph. I don’t see that on GW website. Also would love if GW would publish the force in Newtons as that is a much better comparative spec than cfm and mph.

Erratic blower speed behavior

The sound of the blower motor will change on me and when the sound increases (a very noticeable increase in the audible level of the motor) the blower speed decreases rendering the blower almost useless. Iin addition with a 4aH battery installed and not using Turbo it only lasted about 10 minutes.

I love this blower!!

I love this blower!! What a great price and a great product. I also bought a mower and chain saw. With the 80V batteries you get full power comparable to gas powered machines but without the hassle and maintenance nightmares.

This blower blows!

The blower runs great and is very high powered as much as a gas blower. BUT and this is the killer the battery will ONLY last for maybe 20 minutes. I have two 80v batteries and when used with the lawn mower I can get an hour of mowing from each. One of the straps for the backpack is fraying already and I have used this blower less than 10 times! Unless you have more than 3 batteries to tackle any big job forget it. This blower is not worth the purchase.

Powerful

Powerful blower. Didn't have directions in how to put it together but it really isn't too hard to figure out. The battery doesn't always stay connected in the pack and I have to occasionally push it down to reengage it. Doesn't always happens but is an annoyance when it does. Overall great blower.

First bad experience with Green works

The balance and other ergonomics are fine the power is reasonable as well …the way degrades a full 4ah battery is NOT appreciated and wasn’t clearly told before purchasing. I have nearly every 80volt yard tool and this thing doesn’t just blow leaves it TOTALLY SUCKS battery life 2ay to fast.Don5 misunderstand my crass humor I’m very dissatisfied and this will be hard to cover up as I am a crazy advocate for Green works Pro 80 volt series tools!!!

One More Great Product

I already owned the 80 volt lawn mower and line trimmer so now I am done. I have had these products for three years now with no issues and the battery charges relatively quick.

Works well but drains batteries too quickly.

I bought this unit without batteries because I bought the chainsaw and 2 80v batteries about 2/3 years ago. Blower is powerful and works well but it drains my existing batteries within only a few minutes of use.

Tool may be great but I wouldn’t know been several weeks since ordered and haven’t heard anything from it. Customer service sucks they only give you a canned excuse!!!!

This thing blows.

This blower is great. My wife has been using the 20v blower I got with my impact drill and some other tools but when we got the greenworks 80v lawn mower and was impressed with it's power I got my wife this leaf blower. She enjoys blowing off our back porch. She was amazed at the power of this blower and thanked me immensely for the new tool. Happy wife happy life.
