FAQs

Is it difficult to use snow shovel/thrower with an extension cord?
It does take time to get used to having a cord attach to your snow shovel, we suggest keeping the electric cord as close to the outlet as you can and then move away from the outlet, so the slack always stays on the side you are moving away from or put the cord over your shoulder. That way it is always behind you while using the snow shovel but over time it will get easier to manage.
Can I use my Snow Shovel on uneven pavement?
We do not recommend using this snow shovel on uneven or non-paved areas. It works best on smooth and flat surface areas. As the operator works along the uneven surface, the tool will need to be lifted to avoid contact. Contact to non-paved areas will damage the scraper faster the more the unit makes hard contact.
Does the Snow Shovel have a chute?
The Snow Shovel is not equipped with a chute; it is a light duty unit, perfect for light to moderate snow conditions. We suggest directing the snow in front or to either side by pushing the snow shovel forward so that it rides on the scraper. The direction of the snow is changed when the user turns the shovel.
Why won’t my snow shovel start?
The tool is equipped with a safety start up feature. The units will only start when the following sequence is done: 1.Verify that the battery pack is inserted into the battery compartment. 2.Press and hold the lock-out button 3.While holding the lock-out button, press and hold the trigger switch. Please note, the Snow Shovel will not start if the lock-out button is not held until the trigger switch is lifted. Once trigger is pressed and unit is started, release the lock-out button.
Can I use my Snow Shovel on stairs?
Snow shovels are an effective tool for clearing steps and decks with ease. They are lightweight, gasless, and easy to start, so almost anyone can operate them.

Powerful 80V cordless snow shovel that "throws snow far away" and handles deep snow effectively. Customers praised its power and efficiency, with battery lasting 30-40 minutes. However, significant concerns about weight and ergonomics, especially for taller individuals. Many noted it's "heavy and awkward," requiring stooping. Lacks directional chute for snow.

Directional throw would be great!

Hi Greenworks,

I love my 80v cordless snow shovel. It saves me time and backache, especially this winter. i've added the wheel attachment to improvement even further. The cherry-on-top would be a retrofit for a chute so I could direct the snow sideways. This thing clears even dense snow like a monster, but sometimes I'd prefer not almost hitting cars that are passing by!

Heavy and awkward

I should have listened to the reviews. I debated buying this tool but finally broke down and bought it. The wheel attachment that is supposed to address the weight and awkward ergonomic issue is never in stock. I bought the shovel on sale, but since the wheel attachment was out of stock I now have to pay shipping on top of the cost of the attachment as I’ll have to order it separately if it ever comes back in stock. Why they wouldn’t just sell it together is beyond me. Should have heeded the warnings in the reviews.

This works well, things I feel it is lacking, wish it was a bit longer, and the battery is super difficult to remove. Poor design on that part. But wow can it throw snow.

Snow shovel

It does a great job.It is very powerful and throws the snow far away.It goes through deep snow easy. The battery lasts about 30-40 minutes. It is a bit heavy but I just push it to clear the snow.Very pleased with it.It beats lifting the snow with a shovel.

Does The Job But..

It's a great machine, it does what it's supposed to but it is very heavy, and all at the shovel end. Also it's not built for tall people, combine the weight and the awkward body positioning makes for a sore back.

Heavy and awkward

My kids gave me this as a gift so I wouldnt keel over from shovelling my walkway. But honestly, hauling this thing around would probably do me in before a shovel would (maybe the kids had ulterior motives??). It wouldnt be so awkward and hard on the back if I didnt have to stoop low to make it work too. Im 5'3" so I cant imagine anyone taller having an easy time with this. It does work so points for that and I was going through at least 8" of snow.
Overall, more trouble than its worth imho. Just dont tell my kids ;)

Maybe good if you are not tall

It's a good tool for clearing smaller areas like a deck. Throws snow a long way and can cope with heavier snowfalls (Southern Ontario).
Unfortunately, to angle it for good distance, and unless you want it to get jarringly stuck on every slight protrusion (e.g. deck screw heads), you need to hold the trigger end about 2' off the ground. This means you have to lean way forward to hold the second handle, regardless of how it is adjusted. It ends up placing a lot of strain on the low back. If it wasn't for the fact that I need to throw snow over a railing, I would choose a shovel.

Works well but heavy

This shovel came with the 80v snow blower package I purchased which I have left another review on. My review on this shovel is from using it this season.I have used the shovel to get trim areas hard to get to with the blower (small walks and narrow areas) and have also used it to clear the entire driveway (3 car drive approx 25' long - standard city lot setback). It works well on small areas and is fine for removing entire drive if the snow is light (2-3 inches). It can be difficult to maneuver as it must be pointed in the direction you want the snow be thrown so working around walls etc can be a challenge. The main reason for the mediocre rating is weight. By the time I am finished with the work I am almost as tired as just using a regular shovel due to weight and weird maneuvering to keep the snow being thrown in the correct direction. Since this was essentially a free item in the kit it's worth keeping but I would not recommend purchasing one. I would rather but a light weight snow blower. I think it would be less strenuous and do a better job.

Works great clears deep snow and drifts

Use it in areas the snow clearing service cannot clear. Cleared snow in half the time of shoveling and no more sore back. Cleared areas with deep of 20+ cm doing 2 passes.

Good but needs improvements

Bought this recently to help clearing snow in areas where the snow thrower can't access. Unfortunately can't use it as much as I would like. The shovel would need to have either variable speed (especially lower speed) or a way to raise or lower the height at which the snow is being thrown. Although if you need a powerful shovel it might be great for you. As this throws the snow as far as the 80v 24inch snow thrower (sometimes even further) which is a bit too much for my use case.

TOO HEAVY

Very disappointed. I've just tried it once and I realized that it is really too heavy as you need to lift it often for stairs or simply to move it. The direction of the snow is also a problem as you don't have any other option than only right in front of you! So it is not practical at all.

Not a shovel

This product seemed like a good replacement for a traditional shovel. I was wrong. It's heavy so you don't want to lift it. You can't control the direction of the snow so you are limited to where you can use it. If you are tall you will need to use it hunched over like the guy in the greenworks picture. The snow shovel is quiet and powerful. It doesn't have a problem clearing 6 inches of snow and throwing it 25 feet. This device needs a speed selector to limit the snow throwing distance or a deflector to direct the snow to the side. A bent shaft would have made this device more comfortable to use.

Snow Shovel

I purchase the shovel early before the snow comes. I haven't used the shovel yet but once I did I'll be happy to post a reveiw regarding shovel and how the tool is working.
