FAQs

Do you make Gas Blowers?
All Greenworks leaf blowers are cordless, battery-powered blowers or corded. Greenworks does not make gas-powered models.
Is a battery powered leaf blower quieter than gas?
Electric and battery-powered leaf blowers – in general, are quieter than gas models. DB rating does depend on the model. Depending on the yard you intend to work on, the airflow coming from the device can be a primary factor as well.
What is more important MPH or CFM?
Both CFM and MPH have their benefits. It would depend on which type of blower you’re looking for. MPH is an abbreviation of miles per hour. This denotes the speed at which the air exits the blower. Higher MPH figures produce large pressure changes at the blower inlet. Therefore, a higher MPH is beneficial when looking at blower/vac units. MPH is usually the more important stat here as a higher airspeed helps move heavier debris. CFM is an abbreviation of cubic feet per minute. This denotes the volume of air displaced by the blower. High CFM units tend to move large air volumes at relatively low speeds allowing large areas to be swept and cleared in a controlled, shorter time. Therefore, axial blowers/dedicated blowers benefit more from a higher CFM and is more desirable for these units
What is the most appropriate blower for my property?
Generally, electric leaf blowers have a CFM falling somewhere from just under 200 to 400. If your property is an acre or more, you will probably want a leaf blower with a CFM between 400 to 700
Can I use my blower to dry my car or blow snow off my driveway?
We do not recommend using this blower for any task other than leaf blowing.
What is the difference between a hand blower and backpack blower?
Hand-held blowers are often less expensive than backpack blowers. They have smaller motors to ensure they're not too heavy to carry. Since the motor is smaller, they have less power. These blowers are great if you have a small yard, but can be taxing if you’re spending 30-40 minutes on the job. Backpack blowers provide more power, and you can carry them wherever you go. They have the added benefit of being more ergonomic since you are not relying solely on arm strength. Backpack blowers are better for tackling large jobs, but they’re also more expensive than the hand-held blower
How do I use the mulch function with my blower/vacuum?
When mulching leaves the Blower/Vac must be in TURBO-MULCH mode. Items such as small leaves and twigs will be mulched as they pass through the fan housing. We recommend emptying the bag after each use to avoid deterioration and obstructing air flow, which will reduce the performance of the mulcher.
Why is dust coming out of my collection bag while using my Blower?
There are tiny holes in the collection bag that are necessary for the operation of the Greenworks collection bag. These will allow very small particles of dust to pass through.
Why is my vacuum not collecting garden debris?
If your blower is not easily picking up the leaves, ensure that the nozzle is close enough to the leaves. Also make sure that the mode indicator is on the correct setting. Press the low/high switch to increase the speed options. The unique design of the blower-vac means that only light weight, low density objects such as leaves, and garden debris will be collected. It’s worth noting, higher density objects such as stones and sticks will not be collected. If you are finding the unit is still not picking up it may be necessary to remove the blower tube or mulcher tubes to clear a blocked tube or impeller. Please be sure to remove the battery or unplug the unit before checking the tube or impeller.
What blower can I use for Hard surfaces?
The best push power for removing heavy or wet organic materials from soft surfaces like grass, dirt or sand will come from a corded electric blower or from our 80V PRO blowers. The 80V 580 CFM Brushless Backpack Blower, with up to 580 CFM at 145 or the 80V 500 CFM Cordless Brushless Axial Blower with up to 500 CFM of air flow both units offer more CFM
What is the battery life and how do I maximize it?
To get the most life out of your battery, you should remove it from the charger once it has finished charging. The problem with overcharging is the potential damage to the battery which can shorten its lifespan and leave you in a lurch if it quits in the middle of a project.

Just the right balance

Just the right balance between power weight and runtime. I use a lighter 2Ah battery for small jobs. No messing around with mixing gas starting problems and 2 cycle exhaust fumes. Just pop in the battery and go. Much more comfortable than the hand-held model I first tried (and returned) Makes clean up easy!

Powerhouse Of a blower

I bought this leaf blower two months ago and after I charged it up (pretty fast charging) I used all over my 1/2-acre yard and it performed beautifully it has up to 650 cfm and believe me it more than enough another great feature is it has easy locking throttle lever makes blowing the debris easy and without strain. The battery life is fantastic because i did not use up the battery for four times (6 hours). you cannot buy a better Leaf blower at any price!

Oh the POWER!

I needed a new backpack blower and shopped the gas blowers from the traditional manufacturers. The performance from this blower met or exceeded what I was looking for and was much more reasonable in terms of price. The power and light weight of the blower means my day is much easier and I’m not as exhausted. With a sound level that is much lower than a gas blower my hearing will be better when I’m older. Don’t pass the blower up it’s a game changer.

OK

Basically like this product but it needs more power. It has less power than GW best hand held(710CFM). It dose have descent runtime with the 8Ah battery. It is light weight and easy to use. My wife likes it. For me I will pick up the 710 CFM GW hand held or my Stihl backpack.

Easy To Handle

I purchased this leaf blower about a month or so ago and I must say it's GREAT!! I actually used it to blow snow off my walkway and my car. Bye bye broom and shovel. It's actually very light weight considering my hand held blower. This has to be one of the best investments for yard work.

Would give 5 stars except for this design flaw

For a 6-foot tall operator the angle of the blower arm is much too steep - about 45 degrees. As a result too much of the air flow tries to blow leaves down into the grass or just scatters them around. The purpose of blowing is to move the leaves horizontally. Thus the front blower tube needs to be curved to a more horizontal angle. I suggest that Greenworks redesign the front blower tube and offer it for sale to existing owners. With this modification I’d recommend it.

This thing is a BEAST!

I have had mine for 2 years & it's a heck of a lot lighter to carry than my gas powered blower. I like it so much I purchased another for my son to use at his house. I just hope Greenworks will offer a battery rebuild service in the future for when the batteries wear out. The backpack blower works so well that I also purchased a 60V chainsaw & hand held blower!

Love my leaf blower

Love my 1st leaf season with my new leaf blower! no more tingling hands when the job is done. No lugging the long extension cords like with my previous electric blowers.

Pro 60V Brushless Backpack Blower

Great yard tool for shop and property. The backpack design keeps the stress off your arms when using the tool for extended periods of time. Trigger response is great for when you need added air boost to move stubborn debris. The 5.0 Ah battery lasts much better than its predecessor. Great asset!

Great tool

I'm a professional landscaper and needed a battery powered blower for one customers property and after much research decided on rhe Greenworks. Not the power of my gas blowers but a very convenient reliable tool. Battery lasts exactly 20 minutes so you should get an additional battery. Battery re-charges in about 25 minutes so you can keep a rotation going for bigger jobs. Extremely light !Well worth the money so far !

Powerful works well

The blower was actually more powerful than I expected. Putting it together wasn't too bad took a bit of time to make sure I was following the instructions exactly because that was important. It's comfortable to wear and there is a lever to hold it in the on position which helps. The battery lasted about 25 minutes I think which was fine - I had purchased another battery but honestly after 25 minutes I had gathered enough leaves to spend some time getting them into the tarp and hauling to the curb (for which I use a rake anyway) - the battery could be recharging during that time.

Finally a blower that delivers

I have a yard with young grass that raking destroys. I have tried 3 blowers from well named brands that didn’t live up to their stated levels of performance . This one does. Easy to use not heavy functions great even on wet leaves good battery life recharge time is great highly recommend

Powerful blower and light weight

Powerful blower and light weight. It used to take me 3 battery changes with my old one. One battery covers all my driveway and deck needs!

Moves even wet leaves like a gas blower!

I was looking for a powerful battery powered backpack blower to replace my old gas blower. I’m very happy with the performance of this product. It runs for 30+ minutes on high and the battery recharges in 45-50 minutes. It’s as powerful as my old gas blower and much quieter. No more gas/oil mixing pull starting and maintenance. Yay! Can’t wait to buy my next Greenworks tool.

BEST LEAF BLOWER EVER

I purchased this two weeks ago and it is the best. Light weight no gas mixture no pull start and since I am old it helps me to continue to take care of my yard. This will not be the last product I will will purchase from Greenworks. Thanks for all you do.

Great tool.

Quiet and powerful. 5 amp battery runs for 20/25 minutes and charges quickly on the provided charger. The turbo setting can really move the leaves. It kept up great with the gas blowers.

Converted Skeptic

I was skeptical about an electric blower but this is an amazing device. I live where there are more pine needles than leaves and this blower moved them effortlessly. I love the fact that it's electric and so much quieter than a gas blower. The battery life is good but not enough to do my entire yard. I bought an extra battery and between the two get a good hour and 15 minutes -- all that I need for my fairly large yard.

Leaves

Have to stop every 5 minutes

The power is great and it’s relatively quiet. But I have to stop work every 5 minutes to reconnect the tube. Waste of money when I have to hire someone to come do my cleanup. Not happy at all.

HAPPY CAMPER...

I highly recommend this backpack blower. It's so powerful I rarely use the turbo button. My wife is 66 and she runs it with zero issues.

Excellent package

I am very happy with the 60V blower and battery/charger combination. It is easy to use powerful relatively quiet and does the job without the complications of gas.

Great tool at a great price

I've been using mine a couple times a week for the last 6 weeks or so. It's comfortable lightweight and effective on both dry and wet leaves and debris...and it's fun to use. Controls are easy and the blower is relatively quiet. The 5mAh battery life is decent providing about 30 minutes of continuous power. The area I'm clearing usually takes 40-50 minutes and I have a second battery (4mAh) so the 2 batteries provide plenty of power to get the job done. It's a really great tool especially for the price. Highly recommend.

Light weight lasts long quite and powerful.

Sold my gas backpack blower to replace it with my Greenworks and I couldn’t be happier. It’s lighter than my old gas blower isn’t as loud does just as good of a job and I don’t smell like exhaust when I’m done.
