80V Cordless 16" Brushless Top Mount String Trimmer (Attachment Capable) w/ 2.5Ah Battery & Charger

Intentionally bought this to work with universal attachments. Easy quiet and powerful. This is my second string trimmer from Greenworks. Run time on the dedicated string trimmer is longer than on the interchangeable model but it seems like the power is better on the interchangeable model. Works beautifully with a bush clearing blade.

Great trimmer. Quieter than most

I bought this exact combo a couple of years ago and am pleased with the performance. What confounds and annoys me about this unit is the cumbersome process to re-load line onto the trimmer head. Why doesn't Greenworks offer a Quick Wind Head for this unit like the do for the 60V unit. If they do make such an upgrade it is well hidden on their website. Because of this issue I'll be abandoning my Greenworks 80V string trimmer for a competitors model which offers both a manual and a powerload feature that does not require disassembly of the trimmer head. I also have a Greenworks 80V blower and an 80V pole saw which I'm happy with so at least I'll still have a use for the battery.

Love the ease of use. String is easy to load and power is great.

It's pretty well built well balanced. However it's unusable by all but the casual ocassional use because there is a 3-4 second delay between pressing the throttle and the head spinning full speed. This is a prohibitive setup and makes efficiency and any semblance of productivity all but impossible. If they would fix that ONE problem I would buy THREE of them. I own the 80V mower and 80V Pro Blower and love both of them.

I needed to clear a hillside behind my house of brush. I used this unit with a RYOBI Expand-It 8 in. Brush-Cutter Trimmer Attachment. The combination was perfect. The 80v brushless motor works effortlessly for a long time with even just the 2.0 Ah battery. It’s comfortable and easy to use. Highly recommend. I used this unit as a test for the Greenworks 80V system. I’ve been impressed enough that I’ve added a chainsaw which also impressed. Now I’m waiting on the inverter (for car camping) and a blower. All use the same battery.

Picked this Greenworks up two months ago now I can use the Battery from my Greenworks Snowblower in the summer too without paying for a separate battery. Well balanced with shoulder strap tethered near controls motor and battery compartment for maximum reach of each tool's business end. Compatible - I loaned out my Ryobi plug-in last season and lost a few parts of it to neglect. Great to be able to step to no cords keep using existing tools and the power of this 80V system eases through everything I've thrown at it. Brushless and build quality seems good. Should last many seasons as has the Greenworks Snowblower so far.

I own a couple of their products along with four 80V batteries--pleased but... Went to buy this trimmer but a little concerned because of negative reviews. To get answers to questions one has to send email and hope someone eventually responds. If not sufficent when you eventually get reply it is impossible to get through via tel (hung up after 31 min wait) Really simple Qs. Not covered in video... Weeds won't wait: must buy another brand.

Easy to use and no gas! Battery last long and trimmer has more than enough power. I bought the 80v version so my blower trimmer and my next purchase lawn mower can use the same battery. Big fan.

After using the 80V snowblower for a couple seasons I decided to get the string trimmer and chainsaw. The string trimmer is awesome as are my other 2 Green works tools. I love not having to mix gas pull a cord until the trimmer decides it wants to start not hearing the incessant whine from a noisy gas engine and being able to hang the tool up for the winter without any extra steps.Having extra batteries is very handy. I have a 2 acre yard with quite a few trees and edging. I can still usually finish the job on 1 battery but on occasion need a backup. I bought the chainsaw without a battery and charger so I only have 2 batteries but that's more than enough for any of the jobs I need to do.No complaint about this or my other Green works tools. Professional durability and power at a consumer friendly price!

I have had the 80V cordless string trimmer for about a year now and it is definitely worth the price. I can take care of my 3 acres in almost half the time though I do recommend having at least 2 batteries I have 3 total. The only downside is that the push feed on the trimmer head finally broke and I can't seem to find one easily accessible that works with it.

My 4 stroke gas string trimmer started to act up. So I explored this product. I currently have 80V mower snow blower leaf blower. and hedge trimmer. Strong power easy to assemble sturdy construction quieter than gas trimmer and interchangeable attachment capable. Only complaints are squeeky noise and weight. My gas trimmer is 17 pounds. The Greenworks with battery is 20 pounds. Greenworks used all aluminum and plastic so only place to save eventually is battery weight (2.8 pounds). I highly recommend this product. No need to buy gas. Product is half the price of premium gas trimmer.

If you are on the fence about it switching to electric... do it. After a few uses has already proven how much better it is than my old gas Stihl trimmer. Charged it out the box in under 30 minutes was able to do my entire 1/3 acre yard with plenty of charge to spare. So much quieter so much so that i thought it wouldn't cut through the wisteria that grows on my fence. My old stihl would stall but this went right through it without any problems. This is a sleeping giant with plenty of electric torque to boot that will shred through things my gas trimmer couldn't. So blown away. I'm glad I went with this model at 80v. Wish this was around sooner but so glad I found it. Not to mention how light it is in comparison. This is a no brainer folks. Make the switch.

I'd like to begin by saying that the pre-purchase customer service I received was outstanding. I had some confusion about which model suited me best and with help got exactly what I needed. The trimmer works great and my brush cutter attachment fits like a glove. I will eventually be replacing all my 2-cycle tools with 80v Greenworks units.

The trimmer would be great if the bean counters had left the hardware alone to do it's job instead of neutering it down with software beyond the point of annoyance straight to the point of uselessness. I've had it for a week or two and I've only been able to use it once because the motor startup sequence in the speed control is so pathetic it will not even START! Just sluffs some effort for a couple seconds... beeps and gives up. To use my pruning attachment that I have used with a half-dozen string trimmer heads over the years without issue I have to literally shove the chain across something while pulling the trigger on this 80v p o s in order to make it start with about a 60% success rate. My 40v greenworks string trimmer head zips the same pruning attachment right to life instantly so does my ryobi 40v trimmer head my old 2 stroke craftsman trimmer before it the 4 stroke ryobi before it and the 2 stroke ryobi before it! Somebody needs to get ahold of the genius in the software department and let the USER decide how much power they want their device to output. Luckily there's a nifty input device already in place for this.... the TRIGGER! Great hardware and battery tech made useless by a few keystrokes.That is all.

I previously had a 24v string trimmer from another manufacture but it was having trouble keeping-up with some of the thicker grass and weeds at my new house. I had already purchased other Greenworks products so thought I would give the 80v string trimmer a try. This trimmer works great and crewed through the thicket weeds and grass that I could throw at it. Having used gasoline trimmers in the past I can say for a fact that this product can stand-up to them no problem.
