FAQs

Are replacement blades available?
The blade is a part of the motor assembly and is not able to be easily replaced by the customer; the blade should be sharpened instead. We do not advise the customer for any of our hedge trimmers to sharpen the blade themselves unless they are familiar with this task. In most cases, it is required to take the unit to a qualified technician for sharpening.
Can a pole be attached to make this a pole hedge trimmer?
Unfortunately, this is not an option for our designated handheld trimmers.
What to do if blade has jammed (motor hums, blades not moving)?
Option A – Unit has anti-jamming function: If the branch is blocked in the blade, press the anti-jamming button on the control panel, the blade will reverse twice, and the branch should be released. You can clean the blades by removing any other dirt and debris using a paint brush and then applying a light machine oil. WD-40 or a similar product is recommended. Please make sure to remove power source before cleaning. Option B – Model does not have anti-jam function: To rectify a jam, start by removing the battery or unplugging your unit. Clear the debris and then you can clean the blades by removing any dirt and debris using a paint brush and then applying a light machine oil. WD-40 or a similar product is recommended.
Why aren’t my blades cutting well?
Typically, this is because of sap or debris being caught between the blades (refer to question, what to do if blade has jammed) or the blade may need to be sharpened.
Is there an auto button so that I do not have to continuously hold down the trigger
As a safety precaution, none of our hedge trimmers have an automatic on button that will allow the customer to operate the unit without holding onto the trigger.
What oil do I use to lubricate the blades?
Customers can use a light machine oil to lubricate the blades.
What is the run time?
The run time will vary depending on the battery in use and will fluctuate depending on the load and user technique. However, hedge trimmers that come with a 2.0Ah battery can provide up to 50 minutes of run time under a light load.
What hedge trimmer is right for me?
Like many of our tools, hedge trimmers are produced in a wide range of sizes and powers. Our lightweight 2.7A is extremely easy to handle and very useful for people without a great need to trim their hedges, the G-max pole saw is ideal for users with tall, difficult to reach hedges and the 60V and the 80V are perfect for heavy duty, long period hedge trimming. Commercial users should refer to our 82V line.
What is the cutting capacity?
Depending on the model, the cutting capacity varies between 5/8” or 1.2”. Refer to the owner’s manual for specifics
Why won’t my hedge trimmer turn on?
Battery operated: A lot of the time this means the battery hasn’t been fully inserted. On both the charger and the unit, you will know the battery is properly secured in when you hear a click sound. You also will be able to determine if the battery is fully inserted because you won't be able to pull the battery back out without pushing the button located on the battery. If the handle rotates, ensure that it is locked in position, or the unit will not start. Corded: Ensure that the correct extension cord is being used as advised in the ‘Electrical’ section of the manual and that the cord has not become loose at the outlet or connection on the trimmer. If the handle rotates, ensure that it is locked in position, or the unit will not start.
Do I need to put oil in from time to time?
No, our hedge trimmers are oil free and do not require any oil. However, you can apply general light machine oil to the blade from time to time to help lubricate and maintain the sharpness of the blade
Does the hedge trimmer have safety lock if I accidently drop it?
If the hedge trimmer is accidentally dropped, the hedge trimmer will turn off and the blade will coast to a stop after several seconds. The hedge trimmer will then be locked in the off position again.
What is a pole hedge trimmer?
Pole hedge trimmers are regular hedge trimmers attached to a pole. They are used for cutting high hedges without using a ladder.
Can I add additional poles to my pole hedge trimmer?
No. We do not advise adding additional extensions.
Can the poles be removed to convert to a handheld hedge trimmer?
We do not have a model that allows you to convert between a pole hedger and handheld hedge trimmer. However, some models do allow you to remove the middle extension pole to shorten the unit by a few feet.
How should I hold a pole hedge trimmer?
For best balance when using a pole hedge trimmer, do not overreach. Always keep proper footing and balance. Practicing proper footing and balance ensures that you will have proper control of the tool in unexpected situations. Always hold the unit firmly with both hands; keep your left hand on the pole shaft and your right hand on the rear handle, so your body is to the left of the blade line. Never use a left-handed (cross-handed) grip, or any stance that places your body or arm across the blade line. Ensure that you maintain a proper grip on the unit whenever the motor is running. For further details, refer to your owner’s manual.
Can I trim groundcover with a pole hedge trimmer?
The pole hedge trimmer is ideal for high level, hard to reach branches. It is not recommended to be used for ground cover as it is not ergonomically suited for low cutting.

Product Videos

Powerful cordless hedge trimmer praised for its versatility in tackling brush, brambles, and tall hedges with excellent battery life. Customers said it's "plenty of power" and a "fantastic alternative" to string trimmers. The adjustable pivot head enables various cutting angles without a ladder. However, some found it heavy and difficult to balance when fully extended, requiring significant strength for overhead work. The pole length could be longer or telescopic for better reach.

Fantastic alternative!

So, I saw in a YouTube video someone who like me, is on a rural plot of land, and was using a string trimmer with a brush blade. Those are great, powerful, but slightly dangerous, and in some ways, a bit tedious. I saw in one of the videos they said try using a hedge trimmer as it might deal with the brush a bit better than a string trimmer and a brush blade.

After using it a few times, I'd say they're generally right.

On my land, I have very rocky soil, which means the trees tend to shoot roots along the surface and depending on the kinds of trees, sometimes it seems like along those roots, a sapling will come up. I also have typical brush, bushes, etc. Using a hedge trimmer seemed logical, but I never suspected it'd be so useful for exactly what I needed. I tried the brush blades, and yes, they're "fun" but dangerous, especially the one that's basically like a saw blade. Most brush blades seem to be thinner metal stock, disposable, and I can see after a few times, you'll just end up spending as much as using a hedge trimmer anyways.

The head trimmer is great for pruning the edges of the trees shooting out a bit further than what I'd like. But where this seems to shine best is along the ground, as it's super useful bumping up against anything larger than the allowable max cut size, so if I bump into a tree, it's not going to damage the bark unlike a string trimmer that'll just wreak havoc if I wasn't paying attention.

Plus, with this, you can do a bit of maintenance and keep the cutting blades sharp, so they just work better. I kind of wish I had some wheel attachment I could put on the tip, or just under the head so that it could roll along the ground more easily - kind of like swinging it like a scythe, only "safer" because it won't cut anything too large.

It also seems fairly efficient - I find I can cover just as much, if not more ground than I can with the string trimmer off of the same battery.

I'm not experienced with hedge trimmers, so I can't compare this to others. But for why I needed it, to be able to deal with brush, I found this fantastic! I have some brambles as well, and being able to trim those back without having to touch them is well worth it.

Hard to handle

I bought this several weeks ago and I'm not entirely happy. It seems to run well and do a good job of cutting (I have a great deal of bamboo not a fun job) That is the good part. Here's the bad part. You need to be Charles Atlas to hold this tool for more than a few minutes at a time. The motor in the swivel head is quite heavy heavier in fact than the motor at the base which makes balancing this trimmer and obtaining precision extremely difficult. I am going to try it with a full body harness and see how it does but I am doubtful if it will be very much better due to the unbalanced nature of this tool.

Very Heavy

If you have tall hedges you should use a ladder to cut them as you really need muscles to hold this up from the ground.

Nice machine easy to use.

I am happy with the unit but I had hoped the extension of the unit was longer. When the blade is set at the full horizontal position the unit is not tall enough to reach the top of some of my shrubs. If the extension was another 16 to 24 inches with the blade at full horizontal position it was be even better. Very good product for the most part.

Excellent battery life!

I purchased this tool for a few specific jobs. I always buy professional grade gas powered equipment so this was a first. The trimmer performed well and did the jobs I bought it for. I was especially pleased with the battery. I haven't used more than one battery at a time which is a pleasanr surprise.

Best versitility

I bought this unit more than a year ago because I was tired of having to use a ladder to trim my hedges. The pole length is adjustable so I can customize the height of the trimmer to the size of the hedge I am trimming. It has a useful pivot head which adjusts to multiple angles so I simply adjust the angle I want to trim then reach up without the need for a ladder. It also works great for trimming lower hedges adjusting the pivot head to 180 degrees which greatly increases my reach. Overall It reduced my outdoor trimming time in half and the battery lasts much longer than other companies I have tried in the past.

First Impresions good

Very happy with my new pole hedge trimmer. Handles my trumpet vine and bougainvilleas easily. Can’t believe I use to trim them by hand when this does a better job significantly faster. Used it for three different projects and battery still has about half charge. It does get a little unwieldy when it’s extended all the way and I’m working overhead but it works great for what I need it for. The convenience of cordless is great. I’m done with clogged carburetors gas maintenance and the other stuff that goes with gas yard tools and hope to have all my old tools replaced soon

Trimming places I couldn't reach

Trimmer arrived without the charger and battery but that was taken care of with no difficulty. Have used it a few times. Works great. Bit of a learning curve for small hedges but I love the thing
